Marketing Opportunities with NSCCA

Nova Scotia Child Care Association is pleased to offer a variety of marketing opportunities to assist you in promoting your goods and services to child care centres in Nova Scotia and across Canada.  These opportunities have a proven track record and are designed to give your organization a means of reminding, informing, and influencing purchasers within the child care community. Annually, licensed child care centres in Nova Scotia spend over $9,000,000 on goods and services to aid them in providing child care programs for over 13,000 families.  On a regular basis, the Nova Scotia Child Care Association communicates with all of these centres, as well as other individuals and groups within Nova Scotia and across the country. By advertising with the Nova Scotia Child Care Association, you can reach these consumers directly. The marketing opportunities that are offered by the Nova Scotia Child Care Association include:

A. Conferences

The Nova Scotia Child Care Association, in conjunction with partners, is offering two exciting conferences for the 2014-2015 (September 2014-Aug 2015) year where suppliers, organizations, institutions and associations will have the opportunity to advertise to a variety of professionals including, but not limited to, early childhood educators, child care centre directors, early interventionists, medical professionals, and government liaisons.  We expect 350 to 450 participants at the fall 2014 Conference, and 200 to 300 participants at the spring 2015 conference.

B. Trade Show

Conference events are coordinated with the trade show to provide a total of five and a half hours for participants and public to visit the displays throughout Friday and Saturday June 5-6, 2015.  We encourage businesses/organizations to book exhibit spaces early for the spring conference as table locations will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.   The scheduled viewing times are as follows: Friday June 5, 2015:               12:00-1:00PM; 4:00-6:00PM: viewing by administrators in the all-day professional development session on Friday 1:00-6:30PM: public viewing prior to the Awards & Recognition Gala   Saturday, June 6, 2015:         8:00-9:00AM: pre-conference viewing 10:15-10:30AM: morning break viewing 12:00-1:00PM: lunch provided in trade show area   Website: When you register for an exhibit space, you will also receive advertising on the Conference Trade Show section of the Nova Scotia Child Care Association website.  Provide us with an electronic image (png, jpeg, etc.) of your logo and we will post it along with your business information, website link and contact information beginning in September 2014.

 C. Awards and Recognition Gala Sponsorship

 On June 5, 2014 at 6:30 pm, the Nova Scotia Child Care Association and partners will host the Awards and Recognition Dinner and Gala.  The gala is a celebration of the service and commitment of early childhood educators and programs in Nova Scotia.  We expect 200 to 250 guests to attend the gala including conference participants, government representatives, and guests. Among the many awards presented, two awards, the ECLC Award of Excellence and the ECCE 20+ Service Awards, provide sponsorship opportunities.  Sponsorship of these awards is a wonderful opportunity for your organization to demonstrate its support and celebration of excellence and quality in child care programs and practice. Early Childhood Learning and Care (ECLC) Awards of Excellence: The ECLC Awards of Excellence 2015 include two categories.  The awards are juried by a panel of peers representing the Nova Scotia Child Care Association, Certification Council of Early Childhood Educators, and the Centre provincial de ressources préscolaires.  Winners in this category receive a $200 gift card, conference registration and two complementary tickets to the gala, as well as a framed certificate and an ECLC pin. A winner is selected from each category:

  • ECLC Award of Excellence in Programs: Awarded to a Nova Scotia licensed early learning and care program or family home agency that demonstrates best practices in delivering a high quality program
  • The ECLC Award of Excellence in Practice:  Awarded to an individual working as an early childhood educator who demonstrates best practices in their care and education for children, dedication to the children and families, and commitment to the profession of early childhood education.

Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) 20+ Service Awards: The ECCE 20+ Service Award is presented to early childhood care and education programs that have been providing twenty or more years of service and commitment to Nova Scotia’s children and families.  The Award was instituted to celebrate the former Child Care Connection Nova Scotia’s 20th anniversary in 2009. ECCE 20+ Service Award centres receive a certificate of recognition, medallion, and a complementary ticket to the gala. The stories of the centres receiving the award are on display at the gala and shared in the following quarterly newsletter. COSTS:

D. Child Care Awareness Days Events and Activities

 Each year June is proclaimed as Child Care Awareness Month in the Province of Nova Scotia.  The Nova Scotia Child Care Association plans several events to promote the contributions of quality early childhood educators, and the programs they provide to Nova Scotian children and families.  There are several opportunities to participate in these Child Care Awareness Days activities.   Flag Raising and Proclamation Ceremony, Province House, Halifax NS

  • $100 donation will provide refreshments to 100 young guests and their ECE teachers
  • $300 donation will provide refreshments to guests as well as pay for the AV equipment required to run the event

Caring at Work Awards Dinner, held around the Province at different venues

  • $50 donation will provide funds for an award recipients dinner
  • $300 donation will provide funds for a small community to hold an Award dinner event in rural Nova Scotia (Yarmouth, Kentville, Truro, Sydney)

Quality Early Childhood Education Children’s Parade and Picnic- Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville/Bedford

  • $150 donation will provide refreshments and rental space for HRM public areas at one location
  • $300 donation will provide refreshments and rental space for HRM public areas at two locations

 The Nova Scotia Child Care Association is a membership-based organization with over 300 members province-wide.   As part of their membership benefits we provide a quarterly Head Heart and Hands e-bulletin, as well as a monthly newsletter update.  The Nova Scotia Child Care Association is offering the opportunity for organizations and suppliers to advertise in NSCCA’s communications, website, and social media sites.
