Conference Updates:

July 21, 2015

On June 5-6, 2015  the Nova Scotia Child Care Association, along with the Certification Council of Early Childhood Educators and centre provincial de ressources préscolaires hosted the annual Early Childhood Education and Child Care Conference and Trade Show at Holiday Inn Harbourview, Dartmouth NS.   The Conference was themed Pedagogy Play and Professionalism.  The goal of the conference was to provide inspirational professional development that would challenge educator thinking, and self-reflection, through motivational presentations that would overflow into their practice with young children, i.e.: inspired educators will be more passionate about their practice, which will enhance their work performance and self-image as early childhood professionals. Over 400 individuals attended the Conference, Gala and Trade show over the two day period.

Along with inspirational professional development opportunities, the Awards and Recognition Gala for Early Childhood Educators and guests was successful in providing many opportunities for recognition, appreciation, and solidarity amongst early childhood professionals.

Inside this report you will find participant information, award recipients, conference finances, evaluations, and trade show information. The Nova Scotia Child Care Association, and our partners, would like to thank the Province of Nova Scotia, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, and the Office of Acadian Affairs for their support in the Provincial Child Care Conference and Trade Show for early childhood educators in Nova Scotia. This document is intended to provide an overview of the Conference, Trade Show, and the Awards and Recognition Gala.
