Awards and Recognition Gala

The Nova Scotia Child Care Association, and our partners Certification Council of Early Childhood Educators Nova Scotia, and CPRPS will be hosting the Awards and Recognition Dinner and Gala on Friday evening, June 10, 2016. The awards Gala is an event that recognizes Early Childhood Educators who have demonstrated exemplary practice in their work and service to children and families. The evening includes dinner, silent auction, raffles, and recognition activities that include the ECLC Awards of Excellence for Program and Practice; Early Childhood Care and Education Service Awards; EJCC Legacy Award, and recognition of newly certified ECE’s from the Certification Council of Early Childhood Educators in NS.
The Early Childhood Learning and Care (ECLC) Awards of Excellence for Educators and Programs honours the accomplishments and dedication of exceptional early childhood learning and care practitioners and programs. There is one award for each category.
- The ECLC Award of Excellence for Practice: This honour will be awarded to a child care practitioner (centre: ECE & Administrator; family home care provider) working in the Nova Scotia child care sector who consistently demonstrates best practices in their care of young children and an outstanding dedication to the children they care for and to the early childhood learning and care field.

- The ECLC Award of Excellence for Program: This honour will be awarded to a licensed Nova Scotia early childhood learning and care program (centre based or family child care program/agency) that provides outstanding and high quality early childhood care and learning to the children enrolled in the program.

20+ Years Service Awards
The ECCE 20+ Service Award honours licensed ECCE programs in Nova Scotia which have been providing services to children and families for twenty or more years. It recognizes the long-standing commitment that the ECCE program has demonstrated to their community, families, children and our province.
The Edward Jost Child Care Legacy Award recognizes the efforts and dedication of it’s nominees in Nova Scotia that have provided services to children and families in their communities and worked hard to improve the Nova Scotia Child Care Sector.
Edward Jost Child Care Legacy Award
This is an annual award created by the members of the Jost Mission Daycare Society to recognize and reward a particular Child Care Centre, Practitioner, Association or Individual who has made extraordinary contributions, as leaders and as innovators, to the Nova Scotia Child Care Sector
The Early Learning Commitment to Care Award is a milestone award presented to Early Childhood Educators who have provided a service to child care in Nova Scotia for a designated period of time. Individuals can apply to receive the award, or centres and centre directors can use this as a method of recognizing the exemplary work, commitment and dedication to the educators in their practice. Only current NSCCA members are eligible for this award.
